Today has been epic

First, I got into UC Irvine MD/PhD! Yay!!!! So now I know I'm definitely going to grad school next year!

Second, we beat UCLA in basketball! The fans stormed the court afterwards and it was amazing.

I've just discovered sandwich heaven

Today we missed dinner at the dining hall because of an inconveniently timed basketball game (we won, by the way) and decided to eat out at Lee's Sandwiches, a Vietnamese chain with an awesome reputation. We drove all the way to Cupertino, and man was it worth it. The most delicious sandwich I've had in a good month (and I eat a lot of sandwiches). I had barbecued pork, and it came with jalepenos, pickled veggies, and cilantro... mmmm. I also picked up some fresh spring rolls with spicy peanut sauce which were also divine. And the best part is, I spent a grand total of $5.50 on a huge sandwich and three big spring rolls. I need to go back there!

Going to the Gym

I've started Gymming again, so if anyone wants to join me, they're welcome to!

Also, classes are going great, and I really like my Russian literature class... I'm still amazed that you can read something FUN and talk about it, and that counts as going to class. Why didn't I major in the humanities?

Me, Matt, Bird

Matt's parents have the cutest cockatiel bird named Chloe (although it's actually a male, but they named it before they knew) who spent a lot of time hanging out with us.



I think we were just about to go to dinner, and were playing with the bird. Chloe is usually really friendly, but this visit I won him over by feeding him walnuts every day, which are his new favorite food. When he eats them they get shredded all over the place and I'm not sure how much of the nut actually makes its way into him! Later I reached into one of my pockets and found shredded nuts in it.

Back and ready to start school
